Qualified Bookkeeper

Are you looking for a new challenge?  In an interesting and challenging environment?  Then join our team!
Due to our continuting expansion we are looking for 
a full time Qualified Bookkeeper to join us. 
AAT qualified to AAT Level 3, working towards Level 4.   The position will bring a lot of variety to the bookkeeping role, working on numerous clients, taking responsibility on deadlines, working independently at clients' site and also working within the team at our Gateshead offices.   The successful candidate will be able to draw on their experience to fulfil the role and work on their own initiative.
It is essential that you are able to demonstrate the use of Xero cloud accounts software to a high standard processing all transactions up to trial balance.
Key Responsibilities:-
  • Posting all transactions using Online Cloud Accounts Software, eg Xero or Quickbooks
  • Inputting Supplier Invoices & Credits and reconciling with statements
  • Scanning paperwork/processing receipts and invoices through Dext software
  • Producing Sales Invoices on behalf of Clients
  • Monthly reconciliation of Control Accounts
  • Monthly Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Finalising Client month ends
  • Preparation of basic Management Information
  • Upkeep of expenses records
  • Preparation and online filing of VAT Returns
  • Preparing Accounts to Trial Balance
Personal Qualities

  • The ability to be flexible would be a huge advantage
Skills Required
  • Essential - Experience in similar role (2-3 years)
  • Essential – Some experience of e-commerce systems bookkeeping
  • Good numerical and verbal reasoning
  • Exceptional organizer with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • An excellent telephone manner
  • Proficient skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Xero experience
 
 Qualifications Required   
  • AAT Level 3 (working towards level 4) or ICB Level 4 (MICB)
  • GCSE's or equivalent Grades A or B - particularly in English and Maths

Due to the location of our office and the clients' site it would be extremely advantageous for the successful candidate to drive and have their own transport.
This is a full time role. 
The hours will be 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, 5 days per week.  The time will be split between clients' premises in North Shields and
​ our office in Gateshead over the 5 days.

Office Assistant  (position filled)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. From scheduling client meetings, basic spreadsheets to onboarding clients, you will be responsible for completing multi-level tasks in a professional and timely manner. 


This is a part-time maternity cover role with an immediate start and will run until March 2022. There is a strong chance that the role will become permanent as we are constantly expanding the practice.
 
Responsibilities
  • Answer phones and direct calls with a positive attitude and an energetic work ethic
  • Provide office guests with a hospitable experience (when we're back at the office!)
  • Processing paperwork through Cloud Accounting Software
  • Basic spreadsheets and dealing with clients' paperwork
  • Social Media
  • Processing expenses forms
  • Preparation of clients' VAT Returns
  • Ensuring the upkeep of our in house CRM System


Qualifications & Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
  • Confidentiality
This is a temporary materntiy cover part time role. 
The hours are negotiable but should cover 5 days per week Monday to Friday.
~9.00 am until 1.00 pm ​(covering up to  20 hrs per week)

We will be carry out interviews via Zoom and will be working remotely at first until our office fully reopens.  Once the office is back to full capacity we would expect the hours to be carried out at the office.
